BRIEFS
Bin It!
New recycle bins designed by pupils from Lambwath, Ings and Gillshill primary schools, have been installed around parks in Sutton and Bilton. The environmental project was headed by Ings Ward councillors and the Urban Park Rangers with funding from the Area Initiative budget.
Going Potty
Rare 19th century pottery made in Hull has gone on display for the rest of this year at Wilberforce House Museum. The pieces come from the Bellevue Pottery which operated near English Street between 1826 and 1841, at a time when Hull rivalled the Staffordshire potters.
In Deep
R Bowsley of Kingsley Avenue, Hull, won the competition in the last issue for tickets to attend The Deep's official opening on March 22.
Feeling Green
The City Council has become the first local authority in the UK to run its vehicles on a new 'greener' fuel. It now runs its diesel transport fleet on Greenergy Global Diesel, a new low sulphur/low carbon fuel.
Circle of Old
Do you have any memories of Anlaby Road Circle? If so, local historians writing a book about the site to coincide with the opening of the new community super stadium would like to hear from you. Contact David Sherwood on 598952.
Park in the city
Plans for a new city centre parkland, featuring a 500-ft long fishing lake, are being considered by Riverside Area councillors. The £400,000 project could also include a fountain, ornamental lighting and new play and exercise facilities.
