Firms cash in

New companies in Hull are in line for extra cash. Businesses under three years old and with fewer than 250 employees can apply for support under the new Hull Business Initiatives Grant, thanks to £480,000 of European funding secured by the City Council's Economic Development Services.

Grants for revenue costs such as leasing machinery, purchasing computer software, marketing, relocation and patenting fees are available up to 50 per cent of out-goings to a maximum of £7,000.

Wage subsidies for up to a third of the gross weekly pay of full time, permanent employees who were previously unemployed in Hull, can be claimed as can training grants up to a maximum of £2,500
