Hull youngsters hit Harrods
Fifteen Hull youngsters were the special guests of a famous Fulham football fan on a trip to London. The pupils, from Foredyke and Newland Avenue Primary Schools, were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Harrods, where they met the exclusive Knightsbridge store's owner, Mohammed Al-Fayed.
There, they saw the underground water well, kitchens, private generator and Mr Al-Fayed's rooftop helicopter deck. Mr Al-Fayed, who is also the chairman of Fulham FC, then treated them to lunch and Harrods goody-bags.
The Al-Fayed Foundation, which helps disadvantaged youngsters, offered the trip after being contacted by the Children's University, Hull's out-of-school literacy and numeracy scheme. The pupils, most of whom had never previously visited London, also completed workbooks about the store.
