Welcome . . .

to our new News Crew, who will be creating the no kiddin' page over the next few months. They are all pupils at Northcott School.



We found out about Wilberforce

He was born in Hull in 1759. He became an MP and is famous for campaigning against slavery. Slaves were treated very badly and were punished a lot. Sometimes they were hit with a whip or they might have to work for hours on a treadmill.

These are our pictures of William Wilberforce, his home on the High Street (which is now a museum), statues to remember him and a picture of a slave ship.

Easter Recipe

Why not make some Easter nests as a special treat? This recipe makes 12.

  1. Put 150g (6 oz) of milk chocolate and 2 teaspoons of golden syrup in a bowl and melt them in a microwave.
  2. Add 75g (3 oz) of shredded wheat and mix thoroughly.
  3. Divide the mixture between 12 paper cases and put 2 chocolate eggs in each 'nest'.
  4. Leave in a cool place to set.

Easter art competition

This month, we want you to send in pictures about Easter; it could be an Easter bunny, an Easter egg or something else to do with Easter. Just create your design on A4 paper and send it, together with your name, address and age, to 'Art Competition', Hull Children's Fund, Municipal Buildings, Trippett Street, Hull, HU2 8AA. Please send in your entries by 27th April, 2007. The winning entry will receive a prize.
