Proud of our amazing city

There are two things that I believe define Hull as one of the most unique places in England.
Firstly, Hull is rich in history from its maritime and war-time past, and yet it seems to me, as a young person growing up in Hull, to be such a young place.
I think this is because of all of the new things that are always happening here, such as the St Stephen's development, The Deep, the KC Stadium, and all of the fantastic events that take place around the city.
Secondly, Hull is growing into a more culturally diverse city.
People from all over the world live and work here, and contribute to this growing city.
There are shops selling foods you would not be able to find in your local Tesco or Sainsburys!
I have friends from America, Bangladesh and even Chile!
All of these things make Hull a warm and welcoming place to live already, but what is in store for Hull in the years to come?
With all of the projects and events happening here, I think it can only get better.
I am aware of the bad press Hull suffers, and how national statistics can make it look like an awful place to live, but it could not be further from the truth!
I love this city, and if living here has taught me anything, it is that statistics can never paint the true picture of Hull.
I am proud to have lived my whole life in the heart of Hull, and I would be proud to raise my children here in the future.
There are so many places to visit and things to do, and there is always something going on.
I find it hard to see how anyone could be bored in a city like Hull.
And with more multi-cultural events on the way, areas of Hull being regenerated and Hull's education standards on the rise, I cannot see how Hull is, or will be, anything but an amazing place to live.
