With all the doom and gloom on the news every day, it's no wonder that many of us are worried about the credit crunch and the effect it is having on our pockets.
Some of us might be feeling the pinch already, wishing we knew how to cut the cost of our bills or get more money coming in.
Some of us may be confused by all the choices and decisions that need to be made when borrowing or saving money.
To tackle these problems, Hull Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) has teamed up with Hull and East Yorkshire Credit Union to provide some free training sessions for members of the public.
Financial Capability tutor Emma Bergin explains: 'These sessions can help build your confidence and money skills so that you can take control of your finances and beat the credit crunch.'
All the sessions are free and you can attend as many as you wish – just sign up at the Credit Union Office in Hull Business Centre, Queens Gardens.
Sessions will run between 10am and 12 noon on the following dates:
28 April – Managing your Money (How to get more money coming in, reduce your outgoings and budget effectively);
5 May – Deal or no Deal? (How to get a good deal when borrowing money and ensure you're not paying more than you need to);
12 May – Smart Saver (A useful introduction to the different ways to save and compare accounts);
19 May – Opening a Bank Account (The basics - how to choose and open an account that is right for you).
Refreshments will be provided and there will be lots of useful resources to take away.
