Anne's Ghana appeal

#

A Hull teaching assistant who was touched by the poverty of a school in Ghana is appealing for help in sending supplies there.
Anne Augustines, of Wescott Primary, first visited Ghana on a school trip funded by Hull City Council as part of the Wilberforce 2007 commemorations.
She is now hoping to send a 40ft shipping container full of supplies such as books, pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers, school furniture and footballs.
She also need to raise £4,000 shipping costs.
"We're talking about a school that has nothing," said Anne, who has worked at Wescott for 20 years.
"I took 200 pens and pencils and everyone thought it was absolutely wonderful.
"I've seen 85 children in one class with just a piece of chalk and a blackboard to teach them."
If you can help, please contact Anne on 704532 or the school on 783576.
A craft fair and car boot sale also takes place at the school on July 4.
