Newt news please

Do you have a pond in your garden? If so, the Hull Biodiversity Partnership would like to hear from you. It is carrying out a survey of ponds in Hull to establish which ones contain the highly protected amphibian, the Great Crested Newt.

The newt is usually found in small to medium sized ponds that don't contain lots of fish and it is believed that there are some healthy populations in the city.

To help protect this fascinating amphibian, please contact Shona Turnbull on 612378 or email shona.turnbull@hullcc.gov.uk to request a survey form. You will also be sent a free fact sheet on Great Crested Newts.
