A place to talk

A former convent is one of five new members announced by the Hull Conference Bureau.

The Endsleigh Centre off Beverley Road still offers pastoral retreats but is also used by delegates at conferences, meetings and team building events.

Others who have recently joined the partnership, set up in 1996 to market Hull as a business tourism destination, are the University of Hull, Eon Media, JCS Leisure and HPSS Hire Ltd.

Operated by the City Council and comprising both public and private sector members, the Conference Bureau offers conference organisers a range of free services, including venue finding, advice on activities and accommodation booking. Eon Media specialises in visual communications, including autocue and audience voting systems.

Tim Evison, sales and marketing manager, said: "We decided to join the Conference Bureau because we recognise the value of working in partnership with it and other member organisations."
