Getting the message across

Every month we do our best to keep you fully informed of Hull City Council news and developments.
We pride ourselves on communicating clearly so that you never miss hearing about changes and improvements to council services, or the many exciting and high-profile events taking place in our city.
So that's why we were delighted to hear that Hull in print, your free monthly magazine, is getting its message across.
Hull People's Panel research we carried out among residents of all ages and walks of life told us that the magazine is their preferred way of finding out about the council, beating both local newspapers and word of mouth as sources of information.
You also told us you enjoy our broad mix of news and features.
But now we want to engage further and find out more.
Why not write in or email us about the local issues and concerns that matter to you most, and we will do our best to cover those stories.
And why not tell us more about what you like or dislike about the magazine to help us make it an even better read.
I am committed to ensuring improvements are made, not just for Hull in print but for every council service, and for that we need to constantly hear your comments and opinions.
Meanwhile, improvement to people's quality of life is a theme running through this month's magazine.
Pages 10 and 11 look at Hull's economic boom - we are living in exciting times and have already seen major achievements such as the St Stephen's development and more large-scale regeneration projects are just around the corner.
While the Audit Commission has said that there has been a massive fall in crime over the last three years, an anti-burglary feature on pages 16 and 17 urges Hull residents to be vigilant and keep their homes and property safe this summer.
And on pages 18 and 19 we profile the Tour of Britain Cycle Race which visits Hull next month.
It promises to be a fantastic sporting spectacle, so I urge everyone to go along, line the streets, and watch the action.
The council made a pledge to bring more high profile events to Hull, and the Tour of Britain is just one of many we have delivered this year.
Have a great summer holiday and don't forget to keep us informed.
