Christmas helpings

*

Christmas is about both giving and receiving - but Margot Robertson is definitely doing more of the giving.

Despite going blind in one eye as a result of diabetes – which has also caused problems in her liver and feet - she still manages to run the Pavilion café in East Park, along with husband Alan.
And the pair are donating 10 per cent of Christmas takings to Diabetes UK, a charity which helps treat and beat the disease.
"Diabetes has taken its toll on me, but I've had excellent care at Hull Royal Infirmary, and Alan and I wanted to do something to help others," said Margot (52), of Beverley Road.
The couple have run the café since June when East Park reopened following a £10 million revamp.
