Ranger service
The council is responsible for cleanliness, safety and a range of sporting and community activities in all 130 of Hull's parks, playing fields and playgrounds.
We inspect parks and playgrounds on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness and safety, and have staff permanently based at the larger sites such as East Park.
We also run the aviary, conservatory and animal compound sites within the city's larger parks.
Recycling
Recycling your household and garden waste is easy to do, convenient and free. By recycling you can protect the environment, reduce litter, and re-use valuable resources from materials that would otherwise have been buried in landfill sites throughout the UK.
Contact us for more information about what and how something can be recycled.
Register office
This is situated at the Municipal Offices in George Street. It is open for the registration of births, deaths and marriages, and a range of special events including citizenship ceremonies.
Certified copies of births, deaths and marriage entries can be obtained for events that occur within the city boundary.
Opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Friday 9am to 4pm
Thursday 9.30am to 4pm
Regulatory committees
Regulatory committees are those that the council is required by law to appoint to deal with specific issues.
They are the Planning Committee, Licensing Committee, Standards Committee, Appeals Committee, Civic Affairs Committee and School Governors Appointment Panel.
Restorative justice unit
This service works with young people and victims of their crimes as part of Statutory Court Orders and Final Warnings Programmes.
This is undertaken by way of a restorative conference, victim/offender mediation or referral order panel meetings.
The young people are given the opportunity to express their willingness to change, to stop offending, and to make amends towards their victims.
