An extensive gritting programme is planned for Hull's roads this winter. The City Council aims to carry out salting on around 300km of Hull's most important roads before 8am whenever ice or snow is forecast. The number of salt bins on the streets has also been increased to enable local residents to salt pavements themselves during wintry conditions. A map showing all the roads to be salted is available from local libraries and housing offices. |
