Click to lose weight

A website has been launched to help men and women in Hull lose weight by following a free online weight loss programme.
Registering is easy – all you need to do is enter your weight and height and the system sets you an initial weight loss target to work towards over 24 weeks.
Your progress is tracked through a graph on your personalised home page on the website.
People who take part will be encouraged to eat nutritious meals by cooking healthy recipes provided by the programme and increase their physical activity levels to help them lose weight and keep it off for good.
"The programme has been proven to work for people who stick to it," says Amy Stephenson, a specialist in public health services with the City Health Care Partnership, which set up the website.
"People can access it from the comfort of their own homes and at a time that suits them.
All they need to get started is access to the internet and a set of scales "We encourage anyone looking to lose weight to visit the website and give the programme a try."
According to the latest figures from the health care partnership 49 per cent of men and 33 per cent of women in Hull are overweight.
