Summer in the City

Clued up for summer

Don't miss this year's summer events programme for children and young people

#

If you're looking for things to do and places to go during the school holidays you're in the right place.
There's so much going on in Hull this summer you won't have a moment to spare.
Hull City Council, together with Hull Teaching Primary Care Trust, is putting together a range of fun and exciting activities, at various venues.
They can try arts and crafts, music making, rugby, basketball, drama, splash sessions in the city's swimming pools, cricket, and motorcycle repair.
Soccer schools, kayaking, netball, nature walks, and sports for people with disabilities – such as 'goalball for the visually impaired – are just some of the events that will be available.
"We are putting together a programme to cater for all interests and abilities," says Dean Davis, an area manager for the council's youth development service.
"Whether children and young people want events indoors or in the open air, we have something to meet their needs.

Well attended

"Last year's programme was very well attended and many events this time around will be educational as well as a great way to have fun, exercise, learn a skill or try something new.
"I really hope Hull's children and young people come along and make the most of this summer's events." Meanwhile, if you have ideas on other activities you would like to take part in, why not contact the Youth Opportunity and Capital Funds who may be able to finance your ideas and make them a reality.
Many activities are being staged in partnership with the University of Hull, Stagecoach plc, the Warren youth resources centre, and other organisations across the city.
For more information call the Youth Development Service on 300300 or visit www.hullcc.gov.uk

The full summer programme can be seen at www.cluedupinhull.com It can also be seen in the free Clued up for Summer booklet which will be available at leisure centres, youth centres, cinemas, customer service centres, and other venues across the city.
