Help Hull bloom
Hull residents have until 10 July to enter this year's Hull in Bloom competition.
No matter how small your plot, whether it's a hanging basket or an allotment, the competition encourages people of all ages and abilities to show off their gardening achievements.
Other categories include schools, community groups, pubs and commercial premises.
And by entering you could help the entire city win the wider Yorkshire in Bloom competition, against the likes of York, Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield.
Judges of the Yorkshire-wide competition will give just a week's notice before their visit, during which they will be looking at a range of sites from municipal plantings and community parks to residential streets and private gardens.
Meanwhile, staff from Hull City Council's grounds maintenance team are doing their bit to ensure Hull's parks and gardens look blooming marvellous, including Queen's Gardens (pictured).
"I am grateful for the hundreds of hours that professionals and volunteers put in to show our city at its brightest and best," said Cllr Dave Woods, the council's portfolio holder for the environment.
"Yorkshire in Bloom is a great campaign.
It gets everyone working together to make Hull a better place to live, work and visit."
For an entry form ring 300300 or visit www.hullcc.gov.uk and search for Hull in Bloom.
