Showcasing talent

Why not promote your artwork online?

#

Young people in Bransholme gather at the launch of the website

A new website designed by and for young people in Hull is enabling them to promote their artwork online.
Whether it's painting and drawing, sculpture, publicising events and projects, or writing film or theatre reviews, all this and more can be put online at www.hullybugle.co.uk
"We are delighted with how the new website is developing," says Chris Smith, co-ordinator of Bransholme Community Arts Enterprise, which worked with young people from the area to launch the website.
"The main aim is for young people to showcase their talents.
It's also a chance to air their views by reviewing shows, gigs or anything else they think is important about the arts in their city and their lives."

Get involved

Artlink, the community arts charity based on Princes Avenue and supported by Hull City Council, co-ordinated the creation of the website with funding from the Arts Council Yorkshire.
The funding has provided a range of art and design workshops and activities for young people such as learning journalism and media skills, web page design and photography.
Now young people across Hull are invited to get involved in the workshops and contribute their own artwork to the website.
"I thought learning media skills would be boring but I've found it's good and a lot of fun," says Shannon Davies (13) from Bransholme.
"I've learned how to use a video camera and do video editing.
The website and all the workshops are well worth getting involved in."
