There's no instruction manual...
...for looking after a new baby.

#

But a new NHS website can help parents with advice and information about any of the following:

  • baby's development
  • feeding
  • talking and playing
  • healthy teeth
  • safety
  • sleep routine
  • immunisation
  • being a parent

"When babies reach 5 – 8 months of age they go through a period of rapid development. At this time professionals may not be as involved with the family" says Bernie Dawson, Healthy Choices Manager, Hull City Council.

"It's a time when some parents fear they may not be doing things right and need some re-assurance.

As well as giving information, the website allows parents to complete a survey, which is completely confidential and gives them peace of mind. It also gives information about other sources of help and support.

If you complete the check at one of Hull's Children's Centres you can claim a free gift.*
