Artists drawn to exhibition

#

A total of 673 artists from Hull and the surrounding area have submitted artworks to this year's Ferens Art Gallery Open Exhibition.
Together they submitted more than 1,500 entries, including paintings, photography, prints, textiles and work in pastels and ceramics.
And selectors had the difficult task of choosing just 533 artworks for the exhibition which is running until 3 April.
The number of artists entering artwork has increased by more than 100 from last year, and there has also been an increase in students submitting work for consideration.
"It is great to have such a good response, it proves how much talent and creativity there is in the region," said Claire Longrigg, assistant curator of exhibitions.
The Gallery is open Monday to Saturday 10am - 5pm and Sunday 1.30 - 4.30pm.
Admission is free.
