Community legal advice

Help with housing issues

Hull Community Legal Advice Centre (CLAC) is committed to helping people in Hull who have Housing Issues. If any of these issues relate to you then come and see us as soon as possible.

  • Rent / Mortgage Arrears
Don't delay – arrangements can usually be put in place to ensure no further action is taken by your landlord / mortgage lender. We also represent clients in court. If you have received any court papers or notices from your landlord you need to come to see us immediately. Even on the day of the hearing we can still help to save your home
  • Properties in disrepair and poor housing conditions
We can help ensure your property meets minimum health and safety standards and is not in a state of disrepair
  • Harassment and unlawful eviction by your landlord
We can stop your landlord harassing you for unpaid rent or threatening to evict you without following the correct procedure
  • Homelessness
If you are in danger of being made homeless we can assist with trying to find you somewhere else to live
  • And remember – it is never too late to get advice!

If you need help and advice, come and see one of our advisers at Hull Community Legal Advice Centre, Essex House, Manor Street (off Alfred Gelder Street), Hull, HU1 1YU.

We are open from 9am - 5pm weekdays (and 8am - 6pm on Thursdays). No appointments are needed, simply come and drop in at our office for free advice.
