Half-term happenings
To mark Museums and Gallery Month in May, Hull's museums and galleries have a number of special events during half-term, starting from May 26. The events will be perfect for primary school children.
Saturday May 26, 10am to 12noon and 1pm to 3pm
Streetlife Museum
Plane crazy. Become a pilot like Hull's famous aviator Amy Johnson by making and flying your own paper aeroplanes.
Monday May 28, 10am
Tourist Information Centre (TIC)
Old Town Tour of Hull. Journey through 800 years of Hull's history to find out about characters from the past. The tour, which sets off from the TIC, lasts for two hours and ends in the Museums Quarter.

Hull Maritime Museum
Ahoy there! Make your own fishermen and sailors from cardboard tubes and craft materials.

Wilberforce House Museum
Badge of Honour. Learn about William Wilberforce and other great campaigners and make your own badge in this fun drop-in workshop.

Hands on History Museum
Victorian Toys. Find out how Victorian toys worked and create your own optical toy.

Ancient Egyptian Mummies. Find out why the Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead and make your own mummy!

The Guildhall
Faces from the past. A guided tour of the Guildhall, a recognised museum in its own right. See the many statues and paintings of people who have made Hull great.

Streetlife Museum
Real Rockets. Will humans ever live on other worlds? Plan your own unmanned mission to the moon. Design, build and launch your own space rocket.

Hull and East Riding Museum
Invaders and Settlers. Learn about early communities in East Yorkshire and make and decorate your own prehistoric pot or brooch from clay.

Kente Colours. Find out about the meanings behind Kente cloth and develop your own personal designs.

Wilberforce House Museum, the Streetlife Museum, and Hull and East Riding Museum are in the Museums' Quarter in High Street, Old Town.
Hull Maritime Museum and Ferens Art Gallery are in Queen Victoria Square, and the Tourist Information Centre is in Paragon Street.
The Hands on History Museum is in Trinity Square, and the Guildhall can be found in Alfred Gelder Street.
Entry to all Hull museums is free all year round.
