Race for Life

#

thousands of women took part in last years' Race for Life in Hull

It's hoped that £366,000 will be raised for Cancer Research UK from this year's Race for Life.
So far, more than 4,000 women have registered to take part in the annual 5km race which sets off from the Costello Stadium in Anlaby Park Road North on Sunday June 3.
But organisers say there is still room for more entries.
Since the race began in the city more than 10 years ago, women of all shapes and sizes, from grandmothers to schoolgirls, have together raised more than £1.5 million for cancer research.
Many participants run in memory of a friend or relative who has died from cancer, or for a loved one now fighting the disease.
The Hull race is just one of dozens taking place simultaneously across the country in what is the biggest women-only fund-raising event of its kind in Britain.
Every penny raised funds research into new ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
