A smarter way to park

Finding a parking space can be stressful and time consuming.
But this is set to change thanks to 22 car park guidance signs and 11 variable message signs which have been installed across the city.
The car park guidance system displays the number of spaces available for most city centre car parks and the variable message signs help drivers to avoid congestion and head to car parks with the most parking spaces.
"The new guidance and message signs will provide drivers with up to date car park information, before they get into the city centre, allowing them to make a decision about which car park is best for them," says Graham Hall, Hull City Council's highways and open spaces group manager.
"This will improve traffic flow across the city and ensure drivers do not find themselves sitting in car park queues when other spaces are available."
The council operates 12 off-street car parks in and around the city centre providing 2,500 parking spaces.
George Street, Pryme Street and Osborne Street multi-storey car parks cost just £1 for all-day parking on Sundays.
