Bid for biggest picnic
Families are being invited to join an attempt to stage the world's largest picnic in East Park on Monday 25 May
The record-breaking attempt will involve thousands of people in parks and gardens across the country
It's being organised as part of National Family Week, which aims to bring families closer together
"In this day and age family members don't spend as much time together as they once did," said Cllr Christine Randall, responsible for children and young people's at Hull City Council
"But the week will provide a range of activities to encourage families to spend more time and have fun together."
The week, which takes place during half term, from 25 May, features different events each day, including parent drop-in sessions at Hull Central Library (on 26 May) at which parents can get confidential advice from parenting workers
There is also a family fun event in Queen Victoria Square (on 28 May) featuring events which all the family can participate in together, including a balloon race, music, dance, arts and crafts
Families who would like to join the world record attempt in East Park should bring two courses of food and a drink for each member of the picnic crew
