Goodbye, old friends

Sadly, Hull in print has had to say goodbye to the seven members of our News Crew, who have now made the move from primary to secondary school.
We would like to say a big thank you for all their work, time and effort. We wish them all well in the future.
Our latest News Crew are all pupils from Pearson Primary School. They have made up some poems about school life.

Playtime

10:40 Playtime arrives, Yippee!
Children searching for fruit.
Footballs flying through the air.
Girls gossiping all around.

Children jumping from tyre to tyre
Bark scattering everywhere.
Boys and girls climbing higher and higher
Jumping off and crashing down.
Onto the hard, hard ground.

Conker tree standing still
With all the conkers stuck around.
Boys kicking footballs
To try and catch the conkers
From the conker tree.

The bell goes ding, ding, ding.
The teachers coming out one by one.
Children walking sadly to the lines.
One by one they slowly go inside.
All that is left is birds swooping down
To eat scraps that are left behind.

By Shahab, Letisha, Daniel, Asfar, Holly, Chloe.

School Day

The school gates open.
The caretaker comes and makes everyone welcome.

Sleepy teachers arrive at school.
Breakfast club opens.
Hungry children come charging in.

The bell rings.
Lines of children going in,
The playground is empty once again.

Up goes Mr Squirrel into the tree.
Here comes the wind,
Shaking the branches

Conkers waiting still on the ground.
The doors fly open,
Children have a run around.
Fruit skins flying everywhere.

By Natalie, Harist, Afsana, Moein.

Competition winner

In September, we asked you to send in your pictures of dinosaurs.
Thanks to everyone who took part. This is the winning picture; it was sent in by Connor Tesseyman, age 6. He wins a 12 month family pass to the Dinostar museum on Humber Street. Well done!
