Have pride in your city

#

What's your favourite place in Hull? East Park? The Marina? St. Stephen's? The Deep?
Hull is one of more than 100 councils throughout the country which are urging residents to vote in the 'Pride of Place' on-line poll.
The aim is to find the most popular bits of the city.
Ultimately the council with the most votes will come out as the best place in the country – so it's important that as many people vote as possible, say civic leaders.
The poll is being seen as a way to boost Hull's image following condemnation last month on the Channel Four property show Location, Location, Location which ranked the city as the second worst place to live in the country.
"I'm from Hull, and the Hull that I love is the Hull of Wilberforce, Amy Johnson, Larkin and rugby league - so let's get voting and show everyone how proud we all are of our city," said Cllr Andy Sloan, who is responsible for regeneration and tourism.
Other places to vote for include the KC Stadium, Hull University, the Museums Quarter, Princes Quay, The Avenues and the Trinity Quarter.
The poll is part of the Government's 'Connect to your Council' campaign which aims to encourage people to access their local council's services on-line.
To cast your vote visit the council website at www.hullcc.gov.uk. Voting ends on November 30.
