"Hullywood" dreamin'

#

Imagine meeting movie stars right here in Hull, or driving to your wedding in the stylish James Bond Aston Martin or the rather less glamorous Only Fools and Horses van.
That's the dream of Hull businessman Nick Andrew, who has launched a company called 'Hullywood Entertainment' to bring cinema and TV glamour to the city.
Nick has received a £2,000 grant from Hull City Council's Acorn Fund to turn his business ambitions into a reality.
They include hiring out replica movie cars and costumes and recruiting celebrity 'look-a-likes.'
"I want to stage high-profile movie-themed events and unique and awe-inspiring shows, with celebrity appearances to create exciting publicity for Hull and attract visitors and tourists," says Hull-born Mr Andrew, a former theatre production assistant.
"I've been working on my business idea since 2003 and am just pulling the last strings together now, and should be up and running soon."
Mr Andrew already has credits to his name.
In May and December 2004 more than 5,000 people attended his 'Hullywood Conventions' at the Vulcan Arena (now the Gemtec Arena) which featured movie memorabilia and other attractions.
