Red Arrows
Some of us went to watch the Red Arrows at the Freedom Festival at the Marina in September. We thought they were brilliant. The red, white and blue smoke reminded us of fireworks as they flew through the sky. Dylan would like to fly a red arrow one day and we all hope they come back to Hull again soon. |
Remembrance Sunday
This takes place on 8th November this year. It is always the nearest Sunday to the 11th. The Queen, the Prime Minister and other important people lay wreaths (rings of poppies) at the London cenotaph (a large war memorial to those who died in world wars one and two). Everybody holds a minutes silence at 11am. There is also a Cenotaph in Hull, on Ferensway, where people gather to remember those who lost their lives.
