A partnership in Hull that helps victims of domestic abuse has won a national award.
Around 180 women and children are referred to Hull Domestic Abuse Partnership (DAP) every month.
And DAP can provide them with accommodation, emotional support, legal advice and support at court, among other things.
It can also help victims to stay in their own home with increased security such as a panic alarm, CCTV, patrols by Humberside Police and regular welfare calls.
DAP has now won the Violence Against Women category of the Government's annual Tilley Awards.
The awards recognise partnerships across Britain that make a difference to community safety.
"DAP is a creative and innovative service that has been developed following consultation with women and children," explains Vicki Paddison, DAP's domestic violence coordinator.
"Through effective partnership working and a coordinated community response, DAP assists families to stay safe."
Hull DAP is led by Hull Citysafe, the local crime and disorder reduction partnership, and includes staff from Hull City Council's housing and children and young people's services teams, as well as Humberside Police, NHS Hull and Hull Women's Aid.
It is estimated that around 24,690 women are living with domestic abuse in Hull.
Det Chf Insp Alastair O'Neil, from Humberside Police, said: "Domestic violence remains a major blight preventing our communities from flourishing, and we are delighted to continue to contribute to the partnership."
The awards were presented at The Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
