Rain didn't stop play

Heavy rain didn't dampen spirits when Queen's Gardens, in Hull city centre, was turned into an outdoor playground.
More than 1,000 children, young people and parents came along to enjoy a range of attractions, laid on by the Hull Creative Play Network.
There were donkey rides, sandpits, a fake ice rink, hay bales, a mock cliff face for rock climbing, a pirate ship, hotdogs, and much more.
Entry was just £1, then kids could go on everything they wanted, as many times as they liked, for free.
Naomi Bedworth of the Hull Creative Play Network, said: "It was a brilliant and well-attended day. People really enjoyed it, despite the challenging weather."
Meanwhile, the fun continued with more outdoor play events through last month.
On August 9, the fun switched to East Park. Then it was the turn of Princes Elizabeth Playing Fields in north Hull on August 16, closing with Pickering Park in west Hull on August 23.
The Hull Creative Play Network is a partnership between Hull City Council and many associations, both professional and voluntary, that work with children across the city.
Cllr Christine Randall, play champion for the city, said: "Play is of the highest importance for children - it helps them make friends and learn about the world.
"One of the council's priorities is for children and young people to enjoy life, and that's why the August events were staged."
