Don't ring and drive

Traffic police are stepping up their campaign against motorists who use mobile phones while driving.
Two police officers in an unmarked car will be driving around the city this month specifically on the lookout for offenders.
"Research shows it's the equivalent to being twice the legal drink-drive limit if you're using a hand-held mobile phone when driving," says Pc Keith Ward, casualty reduction officer at Humberside Police.
"You can see it a mile off when a motorist's hand is firmly fixed against their right ear, then you see their phone."
The number of people who were prosecuted for the offence in Hull rose by almost 50 per cent between 2007 and 2008.
So far this year more than 604 motorists in Hull have been prosecuted. The offence carries a £60 fine and three points on your licence.
Police advice is to switch off your phone before getting behind the wheel, but if you have to use your mobile during a journey, make sure you pull over somewhere safe.
